Reverend Brethren Christ, we thank God for the opportunity and given unto us to be in his presence once again this morning. This is the first Tuesday service of the month of April. God has been faithful to us. Last week we discussed about the spirit of religion and the Lord helped us to expose the work of the enemy Satan, what the devil is doing in our midst.
But and thank God that God has helped us to able to expose that spirit. And we trust God that he who have exposed that spirit will also destroy the works of that spirit in our midst. So today God is also desirous to help us to remember what we are doing as a church and why and what is commissioning us to do right yesterday and some days ago. For the past few days we've been celebrating, or should I say the world has been celebrating the general body of God, celebrating the death, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
That's the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And you wondering like so. And the fact that many people are celebrating doesn't mean that everyone are Christians and everything. So the question is, if we're celebrating this thing, do we really understand what it is?
That's not the topic for today. But God is calling us into something deeper, right? Because the thing is that the devil also believes and knows that Jesus is the son of God. So we now find out that is it just about believing that Jesus is the son of God and that Jesus rose again on the third day and now he's seated at the right hand side of God first that many people believe this thing?
Well, guess what? There's no evidence that these people are Christians. They don't look like Christ. So what then is the problem?
I thought Jesus said anyone who believes in me will not perish or have eternal life. But many people believe. But if you look at their life, you'll be like, ah, are you sure it's Jesus Christ you believe in? So we come to find out that believing is beyond just knowing that Jesus is the son of God.
Believing is beyond you knowing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again because there's a kind of knowledge that translates into action and that's the kind of belief God is talking about. Belief does not just end at you knowing a fact, it's also you acting on that fact. If you strongly believe that this chair is made for you to sit down, you will sit on it and that's why you're sitting on it. But if you see a chair that one leg is off, is removed, you will not sit on that chair because you believe that if you sit on that chair you will fall.
So therefore you won't do it. But if you believe that this chair will not break, you will sit on it. So you see, believing comes with an action because you know this. Therefore you do this.
Because you know that the mic, once there's power and it's plugged in, you can use it. You will use it because you know that if it's unplugged, you can't use it, you will not use it. So why then do we believe that Jesus is the son of God? Then we don't act on it.
We don't now do what he says. So you see, there's a flaw in what is going on today. But that's beside the point. Today the topic that is leading us to is the mission minded church.
The mission minded church or slash believer, you can say the mission minded believer or the mission minded church. And there's an emphasis on this because this was the last thing that Jesus Christ spoke to his disciples before he left. I want to look at that because we're celebrating. Oh, Jesus rose up.
Then when he was going back to heaven, the last thing he gave them was this mandate which we want to look at and want to see how, what is my role in this assignment. But before that, let's, let's look at the ankle. Scripture, Matthew chapter 24, 28, verse 18 to 20, Matthew chapter 28, verse 18 to 20. So I, I read.
Matthew 28, verse 18 to 20, I read. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore. So because all power has been given to Christ just now telling us, go ye therefore the word go means leave a particular place.
Go, leave that your comfort zone. Go, go outside your comfort space. Go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Whatsoever I have commanded you.
So you see here is telling us that we should teach others what Jesus himself has commanded us. Not what I know, not what, not what I think, not what I learned from my forefathers. What Jesus has commanded us. That is what he said we should teach them to observe.
And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the earth. That means as I continue to teach other people about these things, I am. Jesus is with me always, even to the end of the world. You see, there is even a blessing attached to this thing for me to know whether God is with me.
I ask myself, am I Doing what God, Jesus Christ told me to do. For me to know if Jesus is with me always, I must be doing this what mandates because he said, lo, I am with you always. But that's not where we're even going to. Now the emphasis I want to make on Here is that first verse 19 Matthew, chapter 28, verse 19.
You see he said something very important here. NKJV says new king James Bible says go therefore and make disciples of all the nations. Make disciples of all the nations. Two things there.
Disciples are what the nations. Now if you look at the context here, Jesus told his disciples from verse 16, you see there he said then the 11 disciples went in away into Galilee. Yesterday was the day. They call it Galilee Sunday or Galilee Monday, something like that.
I heard people saying that they celebrate Galilee day or something. That was the day where Jesus resurrected. As people say they celebrate that. That's why there was holiday yesterday.
So he said then the 11 disciples went away into Galilee to the mountain which Jesus appointed for them that when they saw him they worshiped him. But they doubt. Some of them doubted and Jesus came to them. Now I'm trying to say because we need to understand.
We are reading scripture. You check who was Christ talking to? Who are those people today? Who do those people represent?
Which group do those people represent? Today Jesus was talking to his disciples. Now he's telling his disciples to go and make more disciples. Of who?
Christ. That is the mandate. What does that now tell us? Jesus is not just looking for us to preach the word and get people to accept Jesus Christ.
It doesn't stop there. He wants you and I, that is if in quotes you are a disciple to what? Make other disciples. And now King James says this is what King James translated as disciples said, go therefore and teach all nations.
So discipleship is teaching people the way of life of someone else. Teaching somebody a life. I can't give what I don't have. So that's why Jesus gave this instruction to the disciples.
You know, he didn't stop. It doesn't take Jesus anything to have said. All the people that believed in him around the world, all those people that healed would have called all of them to the mountain. But guess what?
He called only the disciples, the eleven disciples. Because one of them has already died. And he told them this thing. Why didn't he say to all the people in the world, why didn't he say to all people that Healed he called 11.
He told them to go there and wait for him. Why is this important? Because there is something that is going on in the world today. And let's look at another thing, right before we explain who a mission minded church or believer is, let's look at the reason why this study is important.
We will see second Timothy, sorry . . See now he said and the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world. Remember 28 said go and make disciple of all nations now.
Not saying the gospel of this kingdom shall preach in all the world for a witness unto all nations. And then shall the end come. Do you know what this thing means? I don't know how many of us want Jesus to come now.
I don't know if you're excited to see Jesus today. I don't know if you, you have been anticipating God. I beg, when you going to come? I'm tired of this earth.
I don't know if you are like that. I don't know if you are feeling this desire to ah. I want to see Jesus. I beg.
This world is too stressful. I don't know if you are excited because if you love somebody, if you really love somebody, you'll be eager to see that person. Anytime you look at people in relationship, you see they always calling each other regularly, regularly to check up, to know every small moment you call. I remember that time was I went up, my mom called me.
This time called me, where are you? Where are you? Because of the love. Do you understand?
So the same thing that applies to Jesus. If we really love Jesus, we'll be eager to see his day. He said Abraham desired to see the dead. When you see Christ and Bible says that Abraham saw Christ, Abraham actually saw Jesus Christ.
So what am I saying here? The end of this world is tied to us fulfilling this mandate. What does that mean for us? It means that if I delay, if I continue to reject or ignore this great commission, I'm just procrastinating the end.
No, no, no, it's not me. I said this thing. Let's look at the scripture. He said .
I want to read it again. and this gospel, the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations. And then the end will come. The end.
I'm saying this because we need to understand because it's like some people don't understand. We feel that this is for other people, it's for them, it's not for us. The good news about this kingdom was the preach throughout the world so that all the nations will hear it and then the end will come. If everybody does not hear this word of God, someone was asking me that is it possible there's also people have not heard about Jesus Christ in this world.
That island I went to that time. Many people that know, they don't even know they have no head. Some people have no head. Then all then the end will come.
That is the emphasis and why we are looking at this thing. God is calling his church back to remember what he called us to do. You see? You see?
We see today many places that many people have created their own mission statements. Like as if they are the ones that you know. Imagine you join the company today and you now come in and create your own mission for the company. Company has already been established and set up as built.
The foundation has been laid up. It has been existed for 20 or 30 years. You're not coming and seeing them. Create my own mission and vision statement.
Who are you representing? The CEO. Wait, who is this? Who is this?
Please just kick him out. He just like this. Get out. It doesn't make sense.
We can't do that to a company, right? You know, that's the funny thing. Many Christians today are doing something else. You claim we claim to belong to a kingdom.
Then we are now doing our own assignment. We create our own assignment. We create our own mission and vision and we run by it and say we are doing the work of God. God is like who sent you?
Is it me I represented or you are creating your own kingdom and establish creating a name for yourself. You see, the thing is about God that he wants you to have a name, but he doesn't want you to create your name for himself. He told Abraham, I will make a name for you. The Tower of Babel.
They were trying to build a tower, right? They were creating a name for themselves. It's not that God did not want them to create have a name, but he wanted to be the one to create the name for them. That's why I told Abraham, I will make a name for you.
He told Jacob, he told Isaac, I will make a name for you. But today, many of us, we are making our own thing. We are building our own as individuals. You are defining your own self.
You are not allowing God to define who you are. You are not taking the identity or the definition that God gave you. You want to create your own identity. That's why we see many human beings are confused.
They are calling themselves females when called me and meal. They are changing their identity. I know Z also mock them. But we don't know that as a church.
Sometimes we are doing the same thing. They are confused about the identity. You see someone grow up and say, oh, the way I grow up, I. I feel like a female. You can imagine someone is even confused.
I don't know whether I'm a male or a female. I don't know what's going on with me. You see all those movies, I don't know what's wrong with me. The same way human beings, you know, is the same way.
Sometimes churches behave like this. They are getting confused of their mission. You know, we can be so lost in doing so many things that look as though they matter. Meanwhile to God.
I did not send you this one. So all I just want you to do is this, come make disciples of me. Any other thing is very fair. Those things are what added.
Those are like God allows us to like, okay, there are different ways to go about this thing. That's it. The Bible says we should find creative ways to encourage one another. That's what Bible says, encourage one another.
As you see the end of time coming, he said look for creative ways to make people to. To stir up people to do good works. Right? That's why you have people doing many things in the church.
But the main, the main thing is that let disciples be made. Now who is a mission minded believer in church? A mission minded. Let's start with a believer.
Because if the believers in the church are not mission minded, we cannot have a mission minded church. A mission minded believer lives with an intentional focus. Intentional focus on fulfilling the Great Commission. See that word intentional is so powerful.
Intentional. You see there's a way you can do something. I know intentional about it. And you find out that 90 something percent of Christians, they are not intentional about their Christian life but they are intentional about their academics.
Because you see the way they plan for the academics. They prepare ahead of time for academics. You prepare for marriage, you prepare for your children fees. You prepare for many of these things.
But when it comes to your spiritual life, anywhere breeze blow you go. You don't prepare for Sunday. We don't prepare for the work of God. We just.
Everything is just loose. Anyhow. Business. You will see that we create business plan, right?
The three year agenda. Four years plan. Everything is. But we don't do similar to our own spiritual life.
We just feel this anyhow. We don't plan when we pray. We don't plan a time where we do things for everything is just loose. So there's an intentional focus on fulfilling the Great Commission in their daily lives.
They view themselves as a missionary wherever they are. They prioritize spreading the gospel, they prioritize discipling other people. And they actively engage in in local and global missions through prayer, giving and sharing their faith. This is what Christ told the disciples.
And you know the funny thing? Disciples are the one that became the church eventually. So if after 2000 years later we call ourselves a church and the church that we have today doesn't look like what Jesus started on that mountain because that's where he actually started when he get that great commission. If you now look, you know, just like a company.
If a company created a mission 30 years ago, 50 years ago, and they look at where they are right now, they will try and compare. Is it matching? Oh, it's not matching. That means I've gone astray.
Let's come back so that they can focus more the mission and vision. That's what you call alignment. Come fall in alignment with what you have been called to do. No, you are permitted to go misaligned a little bit.
But please, when you misalign, come back. That is what a mission minded believer is. It's not that just leave everything and just be useless. You know, there's the stigma.
There are people that focus too much on the things of God. They are poor, they don't. This thing you see, that's what the devil wants you to think. And he's chasing a lot of people.
That's why many people don't want to commit to serving their God well. So they want to a little bit of this, a little bit of that. They create their own religion. That's where you see people creating.
You see someone who calls yourself a Christian, but he's mixing different things. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. I'm not saying he's doing witchcraft, but he's not committed. He's not devoted to this commission.
He wants to be comfortable. He doesn't want to be too tied. But you see that one is not Christ. That is not.
That's another thing you are doing entirely. And that's what Christians are trying to do today. We don't want to be too invested in things of God. We don't want to be too invested in the world.
We just want to be in the middle. We want to do what? Lukewarm. I say it, any Christian that refuses this great commission, that person is trying to be lukewarm.
Jesus. I want to emphasize this thing again. Jesus did not just want us to become believers, he wants us to become disciples. Now that now brings me to the next.
I was trusting God and asking God, what is he talking for today? And I thought it was about are you a believer or a disciple? That was what? But he now said, no, this one.
Now I think it's important we know the difference between a believer and a disciple. Now all disciples are believers first, but not all believers are disciples. Let me explain. You know in the scripture they talk about Simon the Sorcerer, right?
Philip preached and Simon the Sorcerer gave his life to Christ. And Simon was like a Jesu priest, right? He was like occult leader or something. And he was doing a lot of signs and wonder until he found Philip.
And the Bible says that Simon believed and got baptized. Now see this same person that believed and got baptized. Few verses later, Peter and John came and they were doing, they were laying hands and people were receiving the Holy Ghost. Simon saw them and said, ah, I want this thing, can I buy it?
He said, please, how much should I pay? Should I give me his power? Peter told him, may your money perish with you because you thought you could buy the power of God with your money and blah blah, blah. He said, repent this day, Repent.
What am I saying there? Simon was a believer, not a disciple. I'm saying that many people today that are believers but are not yet disciples. A believer just believes that oh, Jesus is the son of God.
A believer actually has a knowledge of the scripture. But this is the problem. They say having a form of godliness, but denying the words power thereof. Jesus.
This is the condition of many Christians today. A believer is someone who trusts in Jesus for salvation only. Listen, they want to go to heaven, which is fine, which is not wrong. A believer is someone that trusts in Jesus.
They are afraid. Most believers are afraid of hellfire. So therefore they what they believe in Jesus Christ so that they go to heaven. Everybody wants to live, everyone wants to enjoy.
So because of the fear of hell, they want towards they believe in Jesus Christ. And most believers, most people came to Christ because they told them that hell is a very terrible place. You don't go to hell, blah blah blah. They say hell is this thing.
So they use fear to make you say, I want to give my life to Christ. Especially children. If you show children movie of hellfire, ah, if you don't say oh, how many people are like all of them? That's believer, right?
They are often focused on the assurance of eternal life. Those are believers. Now this is a disciple. A disciple is a committed follower who actively you see.
Do you know why the Bible says study to show yourself are proven to God. He was talking to Disciples. A disciple is not just a casual person. You know, when you're a student, a student is not is different from a normal person.
A student is always studying. Look, go to university. Now you see a lot of them. They are studying 24 hours.
Every time they are studying for a word, there's something they are looking for. Actively studying. A disciple is a committed follower who actively learns. Like you see the person every day, he reading Bible, is praying.
You'll be wondering, ah, what is going on? Is it that looking for deliverance? You hear spirit points, you will not see that. Ah, okay.
This one, this one is foul. This one, he's not looking for deliverance. He's not even praying for breakthrough. He's praying you, you hear the depth of his prayer.
He's praying for souls. He. He wants God's will to be done. He's not even interested in his own self.
That's why you know, someone that has moved from believer status to disciples status, he's now he has become the hands of Christ. He has, he has fully surrendered himself. You know, Jesus Christ said that greater works will you do. The reason why I said he will do greater works, not because we are like higher than Jesus, no, it's because he was going back to the Father.
So he has now been restricted in what he can do. And God will not do anything on earth. I say again, God will not do anything on earth unless you're a man God desires. It's not that he cannot do it, but he choose not to.
He only uses men. Use your prayer. So sometimes he might use a physical. He might use a man, man himself.
Or he can use your prayer to do something for someone. But he will not interfere in the affairs of this earth or until a man comes in. That is how God wanted it even. That's why he made Adam.
So Adam created your earth and everything. You see that the Bible did not say anything about God. He's always using a man or the prayer of someone to come and interfere in the affairs of this earth. So I'm saying here that the disciples, a committed follower who actively learns from and model their life after Jesus Christ.
They prioritize obedience, daily sacrifice, spiritual growth. Why a believer can just remain as a believer for the day they give d to Christ to the day they go to heaven. Those are the ones that they don't get reward in heaven. They'll make heaven know.
But when you go there, you see that, ah, so there is more. For example, the guy on the cross was a believer. He was not a disciple he died as a believer. He believed and said, today you'll be with me in paradise.
I know the funny thing, that's where many people desire to just be. I just want to be a believer. Which is fine. Which, which is fine.
But I'm saying there is more. I'm saying there is more. If Jesus go and make disciples of. He doesn't say go and make believers.
That's why even Paul was praying the prayer and said, my dear children, in whom I travail in bed spins again. He said again, because he has only the first time and they became believers now he's now traveling again, praying until Christ be formed fully and completely in you. That is the goal. Jesus does not just want us to become.
He wants us to become another Jesus. Isn't that why he said that day, Paul said he was given an analogy of how Christ died. He said, don't you understand that even nature itself teaches us how. How what Christ did that?
When a seed, a grain of seed, a seed, sorry, a tree cannot come up. Or like multiple seeds cannot come up. Unless a grain of seed dies, it cannot bear fruit. That's what Jesus Christ did when he died.
That was why, because he died, we are not able to have multiple. He was trying to replicate himself. That's why it's now Christ in us. Before Christ was with us.
Now Christ is inside us. I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless, I live. Yet it's not I, but what Christ that lives in me. That is the testimony of your disciple, not a believer.
A believer just believes in Christ, but Christ has not been fully formed in them. That believer does not allow Christ to operate in them fully. They still have like 80% of their body is still controlled by themselves, not by Christ. 80% Of their flesh is still.
See, you can believe in Christ, but you can still walk in the flesh. That's why, you see, Paul was always writing letters to people, believers. You know, that's the funny thing. Paul was writing letter about fornication to believers.
He was not talking to sinners, he was talking to believers. People that have Christ, he was saying, flee youthful laws, don't do this. I'm not asking myself, why is Paul always talking about youthful loss every time to believe us? Paul even said it one time that, ah, there are some things I want to tell you.
But you guys, I can't tell you yet because you're still eating milk, you're still taking milk. And he wants us to go deeper than this. There is more. You see, Paul is trying to tell us that let's go beyond this believer level.
We'll be talking about salvation, salvation, salvation. So people that have given their life to Christ 10 years ago, we are sitting about salvation. And you know, for instance, many of them still don't understand the concept of salvation. It's because they are not studying to treat theirself.
There is no desire for growth. You want to remain as a believer level from the day we were born to this thing. So that brings me to say that a mission minded believer is a disciple. A disciple is a believer on a mission.
In other words, a disciple is a believer on a mission. A disciple is someone who is conscious that he's on a mission. So that means what does it look like to be a disciple of Christ? What does it look like for me to be a mission minded believer?
It means that when I'm working, when I'm schooling, when I get the degrees, when I get the first class and everything, I become the best in my class. I'm not doing this because I want to create a name for myself. No, I'm doing it that Jesus may be glorified. I'm doing it that because through my excellence, through what?
The grace that God has given me. When people see me, they want to know Jesus. I see. Go back to that prophecy in Zechariah 8, the last verse.
He said 10 people will look for you and they hold your ch. I say ah, please. We have seen that God is in you. Can we know your God?
Can we follow you? That is the life of a believer until Christ be formed fully and completely in us. So when you know that's what you have to say every day. Am I a believer or am I a disciple?
We have to check ourselves because many of us, we just want the benefit of salvation. But we don't want to go to the sacrifice. We don't want to. We don't want to grow.
We want to still be. Jesus, please bless me. Jesus, please give me a wife. Jesus please I need this.
Jesus, please I need this. I need, I need, I need. When will you start giving God? What can I do for you that you can just go and fast?
Lord, what can I do for you? What is in your heart? What is your body? You know, when you love somebody, you always desire to give the person more than even receive.
Like you. You will be eager. You know, there's this kind of competition that you get. You always want to give.
You don't want the person to even give you back. You say no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, don't worry, don't worry, don't worry, don't worry. You always want to be giving. You're giving.
That's like the way a mother loves a child. If the child is trying to give, the mother will say, no, don't worry, don't worry, don't worry. You self eat first, eat first. You see, because the love are not reciprocating that love.
But believers, they are just collecting. And that is the state of the church. Sadly, today many churches, they just want how what is the impact, what has changed since we called ourselves a church has been impacted beyond us inside. Are we just having this kind of.
This kind of church that the only people gaining is people inside? Is that. Is that what Christ was saying when he said God he would have said we should come, but he said you should go. And how do you make disciple of all nations?
I want to understand how do you make all nations when you are staying in only one place? No one. That Jesus said in Acts, and ye shall be my witnesses. You mentioned four places and I like to explain what these four places mean.
He started with Jerusalem. Jerusalem is your home. Jerusalem is your primary place of abode. Jerusalem is your home church.
Jerusalem is where you are currently. He now talked about Judea. Judea is neighboring places. You're not going.
Let me go outside. I think I've done a lot here. Let me go outside. Jerusalem is your family.
Let me go outside. Let me just talk to my neighbor, my friends. Hi, how you doing? He said go to Judea.
Neighboring countries, people around these streets everywhere. Now you not say Samaria now. Samaria is now hostile. You know that.
Samaria, we always in enmity with the Jews. Samaria, that's the people that hate you. People that they will repel you. People that if you talk to them, they beat you.
I saw the news now few days ago, they were beating Christians like they were killing Christians. I saw one, they were beating him on the road. Those are Samarians preaching gospel to those people. Now that's not all to the ends of the earth.
That's why you see that anytime the church was being persecuted, what was happening? They were spreading. In fact, anytime they got persuaded, the gospel spread like wildfire. It was like the opposite thing was happening.
You see, Jesus knows how to use say all things that I could do today according to his purpose. That's why when they were killing Jesus, the devil was smiling, thinking that he was doing well. He did not know if he had known that the Bible says he sits in heaven, laughs because the enemy was Planning something did not know that God has already seen it from the end. And God was just laughing.
Even these people knew. So he was happy that. Yes. So when they were persecuting Christian, they thought that they were closing it down.
You know, he expanded. So if persecution quenches us, something is wrong, it means we are not we, we, we have gone astray a long time. Persecution can never close down the church. It expands the church.
And you know the funny thing? God has so blessed us so much that I don't know whether it's been a blessing again, I don't know whether it's quite a blessing because you know that I, I feel that the people that are more blessed are people that are in those states that have been persecuted, you know, you know, the definition of blessing these days has kind of been flawed. But God will help us because we have to understand what it means to be a believer. See, comfort is one of the problems that I see many that hinders people from being mission minded believers.
There is this concept of concept and comfort that the world has shown to us. That's why the Bible says don't conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Jesus did not come to tell you that, oh, you're going to have a comfortable life. You're going to leave this thing.
He's going to desire those things. But if those things come and affect your work with God, please straight away, if it's between comfort, having good house, big mansion, this and this, and it's contrary to what God wants you to do, please take grace from God to deal with comfort. See, we have a disciple has to make up his mind towards let him deny himself. Take up the cross.
Follow me today when it's between comfort and God. Ah, comfort. If it's not going to make you comfortable, ah, I can't do it. You see, that's why we can't grow.
And the earlier the better. The sooner we come to realize that Christ has not called us to come and be behaving like the people of the world. We are from a different country. We are representing the kingdom.
Now I've already explained the key difference of a believer and a. What's it called? A disciple. So a believer comes to the cross for salvation while disciples, they pick up their cross.
Cross to follow Christ. You must pick up your cross to live for Christ. Don't just be like, I've come to the cross and I want to be saved. Many people I want to give my life to Christ.
I'm Going to heaven. But you're not going to pick up the cross. Oh God, pick up the cross. Picking up the cross is painful though.
Ah, it's heavy picking up, you see, and people don't want to hear these parts. I say Jesus paid it all. Jesus paid it all. Jesus paid it all so that you also can walk.
You also can. He said, you also ought to lay your life for others. He died, so you also can die for other people. You see, people don't hear his father just say, why you?
Why you? Why you? Is it that hard? Because that person that is telling you that why you?
That person is a believer, you, they are a disciple. And you know what is at stake. Paul said, I count all but lost all certificate to all the achievements. Paul was one of the highest people in the church.
All but lost even his suffering. He said that doesn't matter all these things. He count all but lost for the kingdom. That is the testimony of his disciple.
So you have to say, am I really a disciple? Because if I'm not a disciple, I cannot make disciples of all nations. I can't. Now let's look at the key capacity of a mission, my dear believer.
But before that, let's look at second Timothy 4, verse 1 to 5. Now this is another instruction. So you see, this is how you measure your progress. Are we advancing or are we just playing?
Is it a child play? What is our mission? What are we doing? Let's look at it.
If you look at it, let's look at the whole thing. Let's be very real with ourselves. Sometimes you ask yourself questions. There is much life, hey, is more to life than just this is the normal lifestyle of human being.
They'll get born, they'll come into the world. They will go to grow up, they'll go to school, learn everything, blah blah blah. The goal is that you see the the whole system are prime your mind. You go to school, then you learn something, learn a degree.
Next thing you are going to school so that you become something, a career, have a job. And when you have a job, you get married. When you get married, you give back to children. When you give back to children, you what else do you not do?
You give a children, make sure the children grow up and become successful in life. And what else again you live comfortable, have big house, have cars and everything. Then you sit down. He said, does he not sound like the rich man?
He said he has plenty things. When he has everything, say I'll build bigger houses, bigger barns. You can imagine. He said God told him Tonight your soul be quiet of you, you fool.
He called him a fool. He said, we see. I know the funny thing. Even parents are also disciples.
Because now you said, tune up your child the way they should go. And when you listen, they will not depart from it. You see that even God even modeled family as a form of discipleship. Because we are training, he said, teaching them to do all that we should tell you.
So that means my goal as a father, if I'm a father, my goal as a mother is that, oh, those children. Now you have gotten them to believe. Now I have to also bring them up to become disciples. When they become disciples, I train them, then they also become disciples of disciples.
And when they go to school, they are not just believers, they are also disciples. People see them and they want to become like Christ. They did that, you see, And I'm still operating as a successful person. I'm in the office.
I'm not just behaving as a believer. I'm a disciple. As I'm talking to people, people are convicted of their sin and they want to what, believe. And they're now learning of me.
I've seen people come and say, ah, this I want to learn like, I want to be like you. I said, follow me as I follow Christ. If I don't follow Christ again, stop following me. That is what Paul said.
Another disciple, he told Timothy imitates me as I imitate Christ. He told, imitates me as I imitate Christ. You see, that is the whole concept. When you, when you, when you start living your life and thinking like this, you see that life is not.
There's more to life than meet the eye. For many believers, they just, they are so they lie by the devil. It makes them just live comfortable. You just do like this, do like this.
And that's why you cannot see people flourishing. Because the sooner you work your assignments, you see how you do the blooming, you'll be wondering how. Second Timothy, chapter four, verse one to five. Second Timothy, chapter four, verse one to five.
Now, before that, I want to just read who was this letter? So it's always good to know the context. They said the book of Timothy. This was personal advice to Timothy, who was an assistant to Paul.
And Paul is. Timothy was advised and encouraged to keep on witnessing faithfully to Jesus Christ, to hold on to the true teaching of the Good News and the Old Testament, and to do his duty as a teacher. So that was all the context. Now.
So this was Paul talking, Timothy. Now you ask yourself, who does Timothy represent today? Am I Timothy, who is Timothy, is Timothy, am I Timothy. That's your actual service doing this thing?
2Nd . He said, I charge thee therefore before God. Seal he charged is a command. He's like, I beg you in the name of God and Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom, preach the word of God.
One be instant in season. That means always be ready, always be ready in season, out of season. Reprove, rebuke, extort, exhort with long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own loss they shall heap them to themselves.
Teachers having itching ears. I'm saying brother and sister, the time is coming where people will be tired of hearing the true gospel. They want to hear all those things that will sweet them. I'm telling you, many people don't like this kind of teachings.
They don't want to hear, ah, you must die for one another. You must lay it all. You must carry your cross. They just want to hear, you'll be blessed, your house will increase.
You have this, you prosper. Yes, those things are there, but I am saying there is more. If you continue to live that kind of life, you will not have, you only have reward on earth. In heaven you will not realize that.
Ah, so there are layers in heaven, there are levels to heaven, there are rewards. He said, lay up your treasure in this thing where muds and this cannot corrupt. How do you lay up the treasure? It's not by doing this grace commission the same way we are.
Everybody's working hard, people are trying to invest. You are saving money for the future so that you have money to build and do everything. You are thinking of investing here. How about your every account?
That's why you see the devil has God blind the eyes of many that he can't see that there a reward in heaven. Every of the work you do here will be counted, he said but the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. They will want to hear different things and they will be heaping up children with themselves having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned into fables.
That time has already come. Just down people. You just, just have a conversation with a typical believer in the church today. I don't want to.
I want, I just want to. I just want my. I don't want you hear those kind of things. But watch thou in all things.
Endure affliction. Endure affliction. This is easy to enjoy Affliction to the work of an evangelist. Fulfill your ministry.
That's what. There's a ministry assigned to every believer. And until that believer comes into the level of discipleship, that person will understand. That's why he said, I have added unto you the ministry of reconciliation.
Ask yourself, God, for all the years I've lived on this earth, am I fulfilling my ministry or am I just playing my life? There's a book. The Bible says, I have come to the volume of book reasoning to do your will of God. That was Jesus testimony and book of psalm quoted out.
David said that God Holy Spirit revealed it through David. That means there's a book that's been written concerning you. Okay, this is James. Page one.
James is to do all of this in page two. James do all this. Page three, page four, page 400. Then the day that book is open, maybe God appear to see the book.
You see that you are still in page one of your book. And your book is like a textbook. Meaning that you have only been in page one, which is James gave his life to Christ full stop. That's where James is last seen.
Maybe just like your charts. You talk to somebody last thing two years ago, 40 years ago. That means you have not even opened page two of your book are still in. I give my life to Christ.
Meanwhile, the book is saying so many things about you. Jesus was reading the book constantly when he was going to pray. That's why he knew exactly where to go. He knew, okay, today I have to heal blind bimos.
Today I have to go and meet Zacchaeus. Do you know there's a way you can. You can press in God every day. There's an assignment.
He tells you what to do today. Okay, I'm going to the G on the ceremony today. He knows that if you see the way Jesus was moving. I said he knew exactly where he should go.
He waited three days for Lazarus to die before he. So he has already known the book because he was always constantly praying, God, what is your mind? What. What is that you want to do today?
He knew that. That's why even when pressure was coming, you know, because Jesus love Lazarus. Now, normally Jesus not wanting to die, but according to the book, he was saying that, oh, he has to die for something to happen. So that's why.
That's why Jesus Christ wept. Because Jesus would have gone earlier. He would have gone earlier. He didn't want.
Do you know what it means for your best friend to die? You know that you can heal him. Post, there was a greater assignment that's why many people walk in error. You have to ask God, what is your mind?
What is my calling? What exactly is it that you want me to do? He said, here, fulfill your ministry. Every believer, after you get saved.
The goal is not salvation. You see, the first thing salvation was just because there was an error from the beginning of time. So that's just a corrective measure. After you receive salvation, there is not the main work.
So the main work is not the salvation. That's why it's very easy to get salvation. Just what believe in Jesus Christ, you are saved, but that's not the main work. You see, when people are getting confused, you don't get saved and you stop.
You not you get saved. My life to Christ, you're not continuing your normal life, your normal job, doing everything just normal. You. You don't have any.
There's no single burden for a soul. You see an unbeliever walking with you in your office and there's nothing in your body that is moving you to like, even pray for the person, your closet, at least even pray not. I'm not even saying even though how far? How are you doing?
How is your spiritual life going? Have you given Christ? Or what is your health? None of those things is your body.
It means that something is wrong with what you have learned. You have to renew your mind. Some of us are just okay with, oh, I'm saved, I'm okay. I have a good job, have a good family.
My family is okay, so therefore I'm okay. I leave all those extra things. It's not my business. And Jesus said to him that believe in my name.
You cast out devils, you heal the sick, you raise the dead. You will speak in new tongues. You will do all these things. And you now say, oh, I believe in Christ.
I don't need all these things. No, it's for them. It's for pastors, it's for evangelists. It's for all those ones.
I. This is where. This is where we having issues. So the church is called to something greater.
To summarize, I'll just list out the characteristics and we end it now. One characteristic of mission minor believer is that their worldview changes. They think beyond their local context. They don't think locally.
They think to the ends of the earth. That's how their mind is. They have a global mindset. They don't think about their own denomination.
They think about the global church. They are not only thinking about, oh, oh, my own church, my own church. They are having a bigger mindset because the church in heaven is not just one denomination. It is the old denomination.
It is all. They are concerned about the body. They are not concerned about just themselves. They have a global mindset.
They are. They have. They have gone beyond themselves when they even praying. They are praying beyond.
They are praying for people in Afghanistan because they know that everybody, though we are many, the Bible says we are one body in Christ. That means. That means when they pinch somebody in that place, I should feel it. I'm telling you, there's a level you can go.
I know some that when somebody's hurt, he feels the person pain that he himself will be crying. He said, I don't even know I'm crying. I'm there. There's this I heard man of God.
He entered the factory. People were walking. He said as he was walking to the factory, people started crying because the level of conviction he came with, he was so filled with the Holy Ghost that he came in, people were crying and they came to him some, please. They were crying profusely as if they did something wrong.
I want to give my life to Christ. They were just crying. So their worldview changes, right? Their lifestyle.
They view their daily lifestyle. They view mission as a daily lifestyle rather than a tax or a trip. Every day of their life is a mission. They are on a mission.
They are acting like a shoulder on the cross. They always working actively with their gun. Just like they go. They're like a shoulder.
Every single day is a mission. They don't take things casually. They think they are very sensitive. They are working about.
They are looking the way the devil is looking for him to devour. They are looking for. They are. They are always on a mission.
They don't do things casually. They don't. They don't donate for donating sake. They don't just throw money anyhow.
They throw it because they want to win you. So they are always for the kingdom. If they want to get a job in Apple, they want to work in Microsoft, they want to travel to us. They are doing it because they have a mission in mind.
Don't do it because of luxury. Oh, I just feel like going. You see, that's why I don't understand people. Why say you leave the country?
Why are you leaving the country? You see, Abraham left the country for a mission. God called him out. He did not just leave.
I'm not saying you cannot just leave the country out of all comfort and that's fine. But I have it in the m. There's a mission. Be led, be led. If I'M led out of this country because of pressure and fear.
That means I'm not a disciple. There was no time. Peter did something because, oh, he was afraid. He left because he was led.
Imagine he was going to face his fear. He was going to face challenges in Jerusalem. Jerusalem was where they kill people. And he said he's going there because he was led.
That's a disciple discipleship. They prioritize making disciples. That's an accuracy of mission minded believer of the church. They prioritize making disciples, not just believers.
They ensure that their action results in spiritual growth in others. They prioritize discipleship. So the church is meant to be. Their mind is not just.
They want everybody to become a Jesus. Jesus will be fully formed in every member. That is a category of a mention minded believer or a church. They are willing to leave their comfort zone.
They are very courageous. They are cross cultural, they cross cultural boundaries. They are not bounded by culture. They are not bounded by culture.
They don't say, oh, because all of us are acquired on Europe. What, where, where do we see that in the say they neither Jew, Greek or this thing, neither male or female. No, these things should be a boundary for God's work. Neither so long is Christ is Christ.
You see, this is a very uncomfortable truth that many people don't hear. They share their faith often and lovingly. They are prayer focused. They are always praying for the harvest.
Jesus gave us an instruction. He told disciples pray to the Lord of the harvest that he raised up laborers. When as you pray that prayer, Lord, raise men, raise laborers that are going to the few because the harvest is plenty. Laborers are few.
That is their mind. They are prayer focused and they are always praying that Lord, because the sooner, the sooner we can get everybody to get the word of God. That's when Jesus will come. If you want.
Unless you want to stay here for 100 years. And you know, the longer we stay here, see the tendency for you to continue. Ah, it's not easy, I'm telling you. The Bible says even the very elect will fall.
So the longer you stay on earth, sometimes, sometimes it's even more. I'm not sorry to say, but sometimes it's more beneficial that you die sooner than to go and wait later. Imagine what's the glory in you staying living longer. Then you know they now reach your soul that when you now die earlier and go to heaven quickly, you know what will it profit you.
So sometimes God is just showing mercy by allowing somewhere to go. I'm not, I'm being very honest because you see that this one is not ready to conform. He's a believer. But I feel the heart.
This is my sister. The way she doesn't want to go with disciple. She's not useful to me on earth. Let her just go, I'm telling you.
So when God sees that you keep on ignoring, he's calling you, oh, I want you to start working for me. And you keep on saying ah. No, no, you just want to be comfortable. God will say ah.
If this person stayed two more years on earth, this person will become worse than who she is today. She might even become an agent of Satan. Let me just take her to heaven so that she rest. Because if you stay there, I'll lose this soul.
God values his soul, he said. He compares the single soul down the world. 20 Years of death. Ask yourself, are you working on assignment?
Because I bet you nobody that works in assignments will ever tell you. Before his time, he said, I shall not die, but lead to the credit. You cannot die. If you are a man on assignment, you cannot die.
That's why even Jesus Christ could not die. The time that they wanted to push him off the cliff, he said, no, it's not my time now. He already knew his time. That's why he could not die there.
He gave himself, even Peter, all the apostles that died. He can't die before their time. He can't because you're on assignment. Unless maybe you maybe in fact the Holy Spirit will tell you sometimes, don't go there.
You now stood your pride and go there. And you not die where you make heaven shot, but you just shorten your lifespan. Prayer focused. They are always praying for the harvest.
They are praying for laborers. They are praying for missionaries. The reason why we have a church even here today because of a missionary. The reason why this church even exists because of missionary.
Missionaries are the ones that plant churches in different places and they understand that mission is powered by God and they are very generous, mission minded believers. Like the church in Macedonia was a mission minded church. Bible described their generosity. They could not even understand their generosity.
They contribute financially to support. Now they're not just supporting any and building this thing. They are supporting things that will advance the kingdom of God. Ask yourself where we check.
This is how you know whether mission minor church check the account for one full year. In fact do yourself, do a personal story yourself. Check your account from January to December last year. Where is most of your finances going to?
Is it towards things that will ensure somebody grows spiritually? Is it towards the things of God? Or is it towards us, the normal things. And I'm saying that some normal things that actually still translate towards building the kingdom, like care for the poor, you know, you still advancing the kingdom.
They contribute financially to support missionaries and mission efforts. And they are always practicing, not just giving, sacrificial giving. Sacrificial giving is one that will pay you. It will do you like you want to, but you will not die.
That is the kind of giving some people give, but it's not sacrificially. Imagine somebody has 10 million and he gives 200k to you say ah, this person is doing very well. But to God, that person is not giving sacrificially. Not that he cannot give more, but he can spend that other money on other things that is lost zero.
It's not that it is needed. He can spend it on. He can spend like 1 million or 5 million on the restaurant. But when he comes to things of God, he rather spend like 100k.
And maybe because we have not seen, maybe some. Some people have not seen 100k, but they'll say, wow, this brother is always donating this amount. Well, meanwhile he asked about do more. That person is not giving sacrificially, sorry to say.
So these are the. Some that of the. Of the church. So we're going to pray to God, right?
We're going to pray that God will revive our hunger. That Lord will revive us so that we seek his face. That we will not just become be believers, we will not just become. Luke will not just be lukewarm Christians will be people that hunger and test for righteousness.
Say blessed are those hunger test for they shall be filled. We're going to pray that Lord, intensify my hunger, increase my fire. Help me to long. Help me to desire what you desire.
Help me to seek your mind. I will trust God that because sooner we start doing these things, let me tell you, you cannot lack. I'm not even joking. You can never lack.
It's impossible. It's impossible for you to go on a mission for God. And he lacked. Jesus did not lack any good thing.
He did not lack. He chose not to have it. Not like he could not have it. He chose not to have it for our sake.
So we also do the same. So we're going to go to God in prayer and trust God to bless the word in our hearts and also spread it abroad, lead us in prayer.
